Some of the main reasons for extending would be:
- to maximise living area to its full potential
- to add downstairs toilet or utility area
- to icrease natural lighter
- to add value to your HOME
- to incease insulation thus reducing heating costs
R e n o v a t i o n s
Renovations are mainly carried out on older buildings which do not meet current building regulations.
Problems associated with older buidings would be rising damp, condensation, wet and dry rot and woodworm.
These proplems can be solved by:
- chemically damp proofing all rising walls
- removing existing plaster back to original brick
- ventilation of all rooms and attic spaces
- removing all timber which has been affected by rot
- insulating floors, walls and ceilings whilst maintaining appropriate ventilation
Once these problems are indentified and solved, renovations then become similar to new builds.
